Uniting AgeWell is expanding its Home Care team in the Wangaratta region to support older people to live independently at home. The role involves travelling to clients across the local area, delivering domestic assistance and housework tailored to each person's needs.

These part-time positions offer guaranteed hours (20 hours per fortnight) with daytime availability on at least three weekdays, in a values-based not-for-profit environment.

Pay Rate: $36.23 - $37.68per hour + 99c per km and travel time

• Help at home: Assist with housekeeping, grocery shopping, and meal preparation.
• Transport for wellbeing: Escort clients to appointments, shopping trips, and social activities.

• Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in aged or community care is preferred, or a strong desire to begin a career in aged care.

What you'll be doing in this role

At Uniting we call our Home Care Workers, 'Support Workers'. In this role, you'll provide care and companionship for older people living in their own homes, to help empower their independence and improve their quality of life in the Wollongong area. You'll be required to travel to client's homes and communities, using your own car.

With a focus on supporting our clients to stay independent in their own homes for as long as possible, duties and responsibilities can include:

• Help at home: housekeeping, grocery shopping or meal preparation
• Personal Care: personal hygiene, toileting, showering, dressing, help at mealtime or medication administration
• Transport: appointments or shopping trips
• Social and wellbeing: accompany clients on outings or assist with our Healthy Living for Seniors activities

Qualifications and experience:

• Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual equivalent an advantage
• Similar experience providing client centred care
• Current First Aid certificate
• Driver's licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle
